Update: Tow Ban for Linn County; Marion Declares Winter Storm Emergency for Thursday with Draco Looming

Update:

Linn County is one of 15 counties under a tow ban from the Iowa State Patrol due to weather conditions. This applies to interstates and highways.

Officials are urging people to stay off the roads.

Previous:

The City of Marion has declared a winter storm emergency effective all day Thursday.

Parking is restricted on all city streets, and city services, including refuse collection, will remain on schedule.

A blizzard that has been named Draco is expected to hit tonight and all day tomorrow bringing high winds and up to 15 inches of snow.

Thus far no school cancellations have been announced.
