Marion FD: Arson the Cause of Furniture Warehouse Fire on Twixt Town Road

The fire investigators have determined that the fire the Marion Fire Department responded to at 5:00 a.m. this morning at Iowa Warehouse Furniture and Sleep Center was started intentionally.

According to a fire department press release, the fire department responded to the address of 1420 Twixt Town Rd. after being summoned by a fire alarm at the furniture warehouse. 

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that there was damage to the front door of the business, and the interior of the business was on fire, tripping the sprinkler system. Although fire damage was contained to the office and storage area in the interior of the building, there was significant water and smoke damage throughout the business. In addition, several other businesses in the building also sustained smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported from the incident. Investigators looking into the cause of the fire determined the cause to be arson. The investigation into the incident is still continuing, according to the release.
