CASINO YES OR NO

I thought this was America. I thought people were free to do what they wanted and free to open any business they wanted. I mean seriously. There are NUDE strip clubs in town and that's OK? Yet all you NO people want to say that I shouldn't have a choice to go spend MY money any way I want? How about these stupid NO adds that use the theory that Linn County will only get 22 million in the next decade instead of 44 million from the Casino. Well 22 million is a lot more than any other business pays the city. All of you NO people are selfish non-Americans. If you were you would be encouraging FREEDOM. Let me micro manage your life. OH you would say No wouldn't you.

To the person so concerned about something to do.. I want to live in a place where my children can be proud to call home. Not a place full of transients gamblers and truckers looking for a buffet!!!!! Casino's attract bad karma ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT!! And keep you're political and religous views to yourself. With you're hateful comments and views you obviously are not a family man/ woman. And look out for there future and cedar rapids too.. There are jobs all over this town and we dont need a casino to have them..... Have a great day

Ambivalent on Casino, but Pro Buffet Rant?

Ok, personally, I don't care if there is a casino in CR or not. I know that regardless of any "vote" if they want it, it WILL be built. I do remember all the promises Gov. "Two Salaries" Brandstadt made when he wanted a state lottery. No state tax after five years, schools would be palaces, etc. Of course, none of the promises came true, and the lottery survives. The revenue goes someplace, but who knows where? 
However, I DO recall at one point GREED was one of the "seven deadly sins" and gambling was a "vice". If conservatives in CR have no problem with forgetting about those issues so can I. Heck, I'm an Atheist anyway. I also play in a local band and have hopes of high paying casino gigs, and who doesn't love a good buffet right? (Gotta be better than Ryans)
Bring on the casino. I'm in.
