Marion Mayor Appoints Members to Local Option Sales Tax Oversight Committee
Mayor Bouska is appointing seven people to the LOST Oversight Committee.

The city of Marion is filling seats on a new volunteer committee that will help oversee that collected tax money is being properly spent.
The local option sales tax or LOST oversight committee’s job is to work with the city staff and make periodic reports to the city council about the city’s use of local option sales tax funds and make sure it complies with the ballot language voters approved.

The tax generates about $4.4 million per year and will expire in 2014 if voters don't extend the fund, said Lon Pluckhahn, Marion city manager.
