Metropolitan Orchestra to Play Saturday in Marion
This Saturday, two performances will bring to light the work of hundreds of orchestra students from the Linn-Mar School District, the Cedar Rapids School District and the Mount Vernon School District

On Saturday, the Metro Honor Orchestra Festival will be held at .
The event is a years old collaboration between the , the Mount Vernon School District and the Cedar Rapids School District.
Josh Reznicow, director of orchestral activities at Linn-Mar High School, said the event should be fun for any fan of orchestral music.

There will be two events in the festival, the first starts at 6:15 p.m. and has performances from three orchestras: one from the sixth grade, another from the seventh grade and the last from the eighth grade.
The second performance will have performances from two orchestras: one from ninth grade musicians and the other from grades 10-12, which will start at 8:15 p.m.

Students that make up the individual orchestras are nominated from teachers of each of the school district.
Timothy Hankewich, the Orchestra Iowa director, will be conducting the performance of those from grades 10-12. Additionally, professional musicians will be accompanying the ninth and 10-12 grade orchestras.
Tickets can be purchased tickets at the Linn-Mar box office on Saturday.
