Marion Police Perform Alcohol Sting: See Which Restaurants Passed and Failed

Marion Police found that four out of 27 local restaurants had sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21.

The Marion Police Department conducted a sting on alcohol age limits compliance for 27 Marion restaurants.

Police sent a person under the age of 21 to all 27 businesses, those who served the person alcohol failed the test, those that did not passed the test.

Of those, 23 businesses were found in compliance, while a total of eight provided alcohol to the under-age person.

Police gave the names of the companies who were involved in the sting.

  • Cedar Rapids Bowling Center. Susan Pitlik was charged with providing alcohol people under the legal age.
  • . Brian Wickham was charged with providing alcohol people under the legal age.
  • . Sheng Dong was charged with providing alcohol people under the legal age.
  • . Jolene Laue was charged with providing alcohol people under the legal age.

The charge is a simple misdemeanor that carries a $735 fine.
