Update: Police Seek SUV After Armed Individual Robs Marion Bank

Police said no one was hurt in the robbery, which happened around 10:15 a.m. Monday at Farmers State Bank

A lone individual robbed a Marion bank just after 10 a.m. Monday, Marion police said.

Police said the person displayed a handgun at Farmers State Bank, 1380 Twixt Town Road. Authorities said no one was injured.

Police did not say if any money was stolen. No description of the suspect was released Monday afternoon. 

However, information on the suspect's car was made public. Police are looking for a newer white SUV type-vehicle with yellow tape over the front and rear license plates.

Police said as the vehicle left the scene, a section of blue tarp was observed hanging out of the driver’s door. Authorities said the vehicle drove north on Lindale Dr. toward West Eighth Avenue in Marion. 

Anyone who sees a vehicle matching the description or has information regarding the bank robbery is asked to call the Marion Police Department at (319) 377-1511 or Linn County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME.  A reward is available for information leading to an arrest.
