Marion Seeks Funds for Lowe Park Amphitheater
The city will ask for a grant from Vision Iowa to help fund the $1.7 million project.

Marion will ask for $312,000 from Vision Iowa's Community Attraction and Tourism Committee to fund improvements at Lowe Park.
The money would pay for construction of an amphitheater at the park, the city's interim parks and recreation director Mike Carolan told the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
Construction has already begun on the $1.7 million project. Some funding has already been secured - $235,000 from the Iowa Great Places program, $75,000 over four years from Linn County, $750,000 from a local-option sales tax and $150,000 from the Hall-Perrine Foundation.
