Marion to Discuss Revoking License of Massage Parlor After Prostitution Arrests

Marion City Council will consider revoking the public amusement license of a local massage parlor.

Marion city officials will dicuss revoking the license of a massage parlor after four people were arrested on prositution charges at two local massage parlors last week.

The City Council has an item on its agenda for Tuesday's work session for "discussion regarding revocation of public amusement license (Heavenly Massage)." The meet is at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at City Hall.

The Marion Police Department arrested four people on prostitution charges at two local massage parlors last week.

Officers made arrests at Massage Heaven on 743 10th Avenue and Asian Massage at 271 Seventh Street, after police received a tip from a confidential informant that "sex acts" were traded for money.

Jennifer Yue Dougherty, 47, of Marion, and Hongmei Hu, 42, of Marion, were charged with prostitution and a disorderly house violation. Guanglan Zhou, 50, of Marion, and Jia Lee, 25, also of Marion, were each charged with a disorderly house violation.

Prostitution is an aggravated misdemeanor.
