Names Released in Fatal Marion Car Accident

A fatal car accident occurred in Marion on Monday morning.

Tina M. Ellis, 39, of Watkins, was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, multiple news outlets are reporting. Ellis was in a car that was struck from behind by a pickup truck driven by Steven Simon, 22, of Davenport.

Simon was also transported to the hospital, but is expected to survive.

The accident occurred at around 7 a.m. on Monday. The vehicles were traveling from Highway 151 onto the on ramp for eastbound Highway 30.
