The riders were exhausted after riding in 105-degree heat that day, and were thrilled to have a free dinner of Hy-Vee lasagna, rolls, caesar salad and dessert. Plus, they chugged down lots of icy Gatorade and water to replenish for the next day's ride to Cedar Rapids.
That night Mother Nature briefly cooled things down with a thunderstorm that rocked tents and doused a few campers. It's all part of RAGBRAI.
