Police Partn'r with Texas Roadhouse to Serve 'Free' Lunch for Special Olympics Iowa

Several police departments, including Cedar Rapids, will serve "free" lunch at various Texas Roadhouse restaurants on Thursday. Leave a donation at the table and 100 percent goes to Special Olympics Iowa.


Police Departments around Iowa are partnering with Texas Roadhouse restaurants to serve "free" lunch to raise money for Special Olympics Iowa. 

Local law enforcement workers around Iowa, including in Cedar Rapids, will serve lunch to raise money. Patrons leave a donation at the table and 100 percent goes to Special Olympics Iowa, according to organizers of the event.

The lunch is today, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Cedar Rapids Texas Roadhouse at 2605 Edgewood Road SW is among several locations in Iowa participating. 

Menu:

  • Pulled Pork Sandwich
  • Applesauce
  • Fresh-baked Bread with Honey Cinnamon Butter
  • Beverage (Pop or tea) 
Locations in Ames, Urbandale, Cedar Falls, Coralville, Davenport, Dubuque, Sioux City and Council Bluffs are also participating.
