Here is the tentative city council agenda for the Marion City Council meeting scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on May 7, 2013.
A few quick takeaways from this agenda:
- There could be some more construction on 7th Street in Uptown Marion if these requests are approved:
a. Request for TIF Assistance from Lawrence Smith related to
improvements to 1890 7th Avenue located in the Central Corridor Urban
Renewal Area.
b. Request for TIF Assistance from Capital Commercial Division, LLC
related to construction of a new building at 1204 7th Avenue located in
the Central Corridor Urban Renewal Area - The City of Marion will get a boost for it's Lowe Park Ampitheater project with some Vision Iowa funding:
1. Resolution No. __________ authorizing and execution of a COMMUNITY
ATTRACTION AND TOURISM GRANT between the Vision Iowa Board and
the City of Marion in the amount of $250,311.00 for the construction of an
Amphitheater to be located in Lowe Park. - I won't post all of the items because they are many in number, but there are several dotting the I and cross the T ordinances related to the continued work on Tower Terrace Road and the Marion Central Corridor Project.
- There is an item on the agenda about the No Parking on 6th Street request, although that doesn't mean there will be significant discussion the topic.
