The Republican presidential candidate who has spent a total of around three months time on the ground in our state is making his last plea to the caucus goers on Wednesday at the TrueNorth Learning Center, starting at 6:30 p.m.

It will be one of his final campaign stops in Iowa before the Jan. 3 caucus.Â
Marion Patch wrote about him in his previous visit to Marion, where he made a statement that didn't seem to suggest confidence in his ability to win Iowa.

"We don't have to win Iowa to win this," he said about his campaign, in a previous interview with Marion Patch.
This is in conflict with his extensive on-the-ground record in Iowa, but it isn't the only thing. According to tweets from the New York Times National Political Corrispondent, Jeff Zeleny, it looks like Santorum is further distancing himself from his bad poll numbers and overall lack of attention:
Santorum said Perry proved running for president isn't easy. "I feel blessed in many respects that the media has ignored me for awhile."
