Marion's David Parry, a former Linn-Mar star, had a clutch performance filling in on the defensive line for the Stanford Cardinals, as they took on the Wisconsin Badgers in the 99th "Granddaddy Of Them All."

Former Linn-Mar standout David Parry had a whale of a game for the Stanford Cardinals in a defensive struggle against the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl.

Stanford took down Wisconsin 20-14.

The annual match up of the Big Ten and the Pac-12 is being played at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA on New Year's Day, Tuesday. The so-called "Granddaddy of Them All," is presented by Vizio.

Parry had to fill in as a starter after Terrence Stephens, was declared ineligible for NCAA violations. It's his third straight start.

Parry, a 6-foot-2, 300 pound defensive tackle, has been in on some big plays, including holding Wisconsin's Jason White on the goal line on fourth and one and a big third and one stop in the fourth quarter.

Legendary play-by-play man Brent Musburger, who was calling the game for ESPN, even gave Parry some praise for his work.
