Marion-Cedar Rapids Rotary Honored for Philanthropy

Jill Olsen, district governor, presented club chairwoman Michelle Bell with an award for club giving, at a meeting last Tuesday.

The Rotary Club of Marion-East Cedar Rapids had the second highest per-capita level of charitable giving to Rotary Club International for the entire Rotary Club 5970 district in 2011-12.

Rotary is a service organization dedicated to humanitarian causes around the world, such as hunger and fighting disease.

More than 30 people were on hand for the regular Tuesday luncheon meeting at the Longbranch Hotel when the club received the award.
