Still No Answers as Police Continue Investigation of Car Accident That Left Marion Woman Dead
Cedar Rapids police are not sure why a vehicle driven by Chase Goers, 17, of Cedar Rapids, was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 380. Kelley McLaren, 25, of Marion, died in the accident.

Police are still looking for answers about an accident that left a Marion woman dead a week ago Sunday.
Cedar Rapids Police responded at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, to a report of an accident on Interstate 380 northbound just south of Wright Brothers Blvd. SW and south of Cedar Rapids.

A vehicle driven by Kelley McLaren, 25, of Marion, was heading northbound. A second vehicle driven by Chase Goers, 17, of Cedar Rapids, was heading southbound in the same northbound lane. The vehicles collided head-on with both vehicles sustaining heavy damage, according to police.
McLaren died at the scene and Goers was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"The accident is still under investigation," Cedar Rapids Officer Melissa Henderson said today. "We are unsure why he was traveling in the wrong direction."
Henderson said they do not know Goers' medical condition. She said a press release will be issued when more information is known.
