The Story Behind Pink Flower: Marion Business Spotlight

You may have heard of Pink Flower Photography, but perhaps you haven't heard how the studio got its name.

Caitlyn Hofmaster, who is the owner and lead photographer, wanted a name for her new business that would stick. People might not remember or be able to spell her given name, but her nickname - that is pretty memorable.

"While I was in Africa, which started my photography interest, one of my good Mozambican friends and translator at the time, nicknamed me Pink Flower," Hofmaster said. "Whenever we would go somewhere in the country to work with the people he would ask 'Where is my Pink Flower?'

The nickname stuck and she had a memorable and meaningful name for her business - even though she doesn't necessarily love pink or flowers, she said.

Pink Flower Photography has passed the two year mark, having opened in January 2011. It is located at 1375 7th Ave. in Marion.

Pink Flower Photography offers modern newborn, kids and senior portraiture. 

"I love meeting new people and documenting their story," Hofmaster said.

All sessions come with the digital files and printing options according to your wants and needs, she said.
