This Week in Marion Weather: Mostly Uneventful, Despite Starting Out a Bit Cold

No sudden snow showers, thunderstorms, or even many clouds in the forecast for most of this week. Just a little cold (for spring) but warmer by the end of the week, which will bring some rain and fog along with it.

What's the best thing about when it gets warmer?

When it gets colder it's still above freezing. At least for most of the day.

That describes this week perfectly, as we will start the week off with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s in Marion according to a forecast from the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities. These temperatures will slowly heat up until they reach highs in the 50s and 60s, which will bring with it a chance of rain and fog over the weekend.

The NWS Climatology information states that this week will start colder than normal for Cedar Rapids, before snapping back into shape.

So 86 would be nice, but it could be worse. 14 degrees? Ouch!

KCRG weather says that a system passing through the area may bring a few flurries from Sunday to Monday, but that it will mostly be cold and sunny. Temperatures will pick up by Wednesday.

The Weather Underground 10-day forecast shows that the rain chances over the weekend will turn into thunderstorm chances all throughout early next week.
