This Week in Marion Weather: Rain Down on Me, Then Turn a Cold Shoulder
Expect rain of both the normal storm and thunderstorm variety this week according to online forecasts.

A strong storm is rippling its way through Northern Iowa this morning, but it looks at the moment like it will not venture south enough to produce any significant rainfall for Marion.
Don't expect to be so lucky for the rest of the week.
After a weekend featuring sunny and warm temperatures, we should see the return of the weather we've come to be used to this Spring so far: with chances for rain every day and temperatures dropping from highs in the seventies to highs in the forties.

Here's the forecast from the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities with most of the heavy action forecasted to take place from today through Wednesday.

- Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind around 10 mph.
- Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
- Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
- Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
After that the forecast is for a good chance of rain for the rest of the week and highs in the mid forties.
The 10-day weather forecast for Marion from Weather Underground follows this same forecast, with a slightly less chance for rain this week. It also forecasts for temperatures to rebound again back into the sixties, but this will also come with a chance of rain Monday through Wednesday.
