This Week in Marion Weather: Will The Rain and Clouds Ever Go Away?

It might be safe to assume most of us are ready for these clouds to depart and the sun to shine down on Marion for more than a few hours at a time.

Unfortunately, we still might not see much of it this week.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a good chance of rain every day this week through Friday, adding more soggy misery to the wet Memorial Day weekend we just came out of. Linn County remains under a flood warning for the Cedar River.

In addition the the rain, temperatures will stay consistent in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Here's a peek at this week's forecast:

• Tuesday A slight chance of rain before 4pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Tuesday Night A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 5 to 10 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Wednesday Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Wednesday Night A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
• Thursday Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 78. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
• Thursday Night Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a low around 65. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Friday Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
