A young child has died after police say the the child wandered out of his Cedar Rapids home and was found later in a creek.
The 5 year old's identify is being withheld by authorities at this time. No foul play is suspected, police say.
Police were called at 6:39 p.m. Friday to 300 block of 30th Street Drive SE after the parents discovered their child left the house and after searching.
Responders found the child south of the house in Indian Creek.
The child was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but passed away at 3:30 a.m. this morning.
