UPDATE: Marion Police Release Name of Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

have identified the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash last Saturday.

The man is Matthew L. Dunkel, 40, of Marion. The Gazette first reported his identity.

According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette and the , Dunkel was killed on a motorcycle on Highway 13 when he was struck by a green sports utility vehicle.

He died at the scene, but according to later reports from the Marion Police Department and the Gazette, his female passenger, 51-year-old Tami M. Mysak, 51, of Springville, sustained serious injuries. She remains hospitalized as late as of last Monday.

The wife of the owner of a driving range that is located at the intersection said she had seen around four accidents happen in that intersection since they opened last June.
