What's Open and What's Closed for New Year's in Marion?

Marion Public Library

The library will close at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, which is New Year's Eve, and remain closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, which is New Year's Day.

City/County

Marion City Hall and other city offices will be closed New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Linn County offices will be closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The LIFTS service will run on a limited schedule on New Year's Eve.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee will close at 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve and reopen at 6 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Lindale Mall

New Year's Eve: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New Year's Day: 10 a.m. to  5 p.m.

Schools

Both Marion Independent at Linn-Mar will be on winter break. School resumes on Thursday, Jan. 3.

Exercise

The Marion YMCA will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and will be closed on New Year's Day.

Mail

Most Post Offices will close at noon on New Year's Eve. You should drop off items in collection boxes by noon. Delivery will go on as normal on New Year's Eve. There is no mail delivery or U.S. Post Office retail service on New Year's Day.
