What's Open and What's Closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday in Marion?

Thanksgiving is time for family, but we know you may need to get out of the house. So, here's what you can expect if you do venture out.

Marion Public Library

Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Thursday: Close
Friday: Regular hours.

City Hall

Marion City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. 

City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Nov. 26.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee will close at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Schools

Both Marion Independent at Linn-Mar districts have no school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Technically, Wednesday is a comp day, while Thursday and Friday are for the holiday.

Exercise

The Marion YMCA will be closed on Thanksgiving and open for normal hours on Wednesday and Friday.

Pharmacy

Hardware store

Ace Hardware is closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen on Black Friday.

Mail

There is no mail delivery or U.S. Post Office retail service on Thanksgiving. UPS will also not be delivering on Thursday or Friday (except for UPS Express Critical on Thanksgiving, and on Friday delivery and pickup of air and international packages only.)
