Tonight’s presidential debate is the first beween Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Patch will be holding a live chat on the site beginning at 7:45 p.m.
Here’s what you need to know:
Who: President Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Jim Lehrer of NewsHour on PBS will moderate the debate
What: The first presidential debate
When: Tonight, 8 p.m.
Where: University of Denver. The debate will be televised by the networks and news cable stations.

If you'd like to spend your time with some like-minded Democrats, Obama's campaign is holding two watch parties in our fair city. However, one is already booked, so if you are interested, show up to Field House in Cedar Rapids at 7 p.m. — on 1140 Blairs Ferry Rd NE — for the west Marion watch party.
"The first presidential debate of the 2012 election is Wednesday, October 3rd. We'll be gathering to watch the debate together and make plans to get involved for the final month of the election. Join us for what is sure to be a fun evening!" a post on the Barack Obama Iowa site announced.
But if Republicans are more your style, then check out this watch party hosted by the Cedar Rapids Victory Center — Romney's campaign office — at 7 p.m. on 115 Collins Road NE. There's other Romney watch parties around Iowa.
