Tickets on Sale for Prairie Christmas at Urbandale's Living History Farms

Tickets are on sale for the annual Prairie Christmas at.
The annual holiday event, scheduled for Dec. 10, whisks people back to simpler times through tours of its historic homes decorated for the season.
"I think they like that it takes them back to a simpler time. We showcase what life was like in 1875," said Jennie Deerr, vice president of marketing for Living History Farms. "It allows people to step out of the hustle and bustle of the mall and realize the true meaning of the holiday season.

Prairie Christmas includes horse-drawn wagon rides, an old fashioned holiday social with music, games, tree trimming and Santa Claus. There also will be taffy pulls and children's crafts, and the marketplace and a special children's Santa's Workshop will be open for holiday shopping.
The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 10.

What are your favorite holiday activities in Urbandale?
There is an early discount ticket cost of $5 per person if purchased online by 6 a.m., Dec. 8. Otherwise they are $5.50 a person or $5 for members of Living History Farms. Tickets can also be purchased at Living History Farms.
