A Photographer, Politician and a Pastor Blog on Waukee Patch. Why Not You?
Waukee Patch welcomes several new bloggers to our Local Voices column. Here's a look at our roster and information on how you can participate.
Waukee Patch is all about you. That’s why we’ve been encouraging you to upload photos, submit your views on stories, suggest coverage and share a bit about yourselves, what you do and what’s going on around you.
Everyday people, like , who oversees youth sports programming at the Waukee YMCA, are taking full advantage of the opportunity by blogging on Waukee Patch. He’ll blog about what’s going on with programming at the Y and share stories of how helping kids helps you -- and the whole community.
Here’s some of what he had to say in his first post: “In my blog, I will showcase our YMCA youth sports programs along with including updates regarding future programs. Volunteer coaches and parents will also be able to upload their pictures and comment on their experiences from the weekend activities.
“In addition, we are always looking for a great story about how a child's development and character has been improved through the YMCA and youth sports programs. If you have a great story to tell, check out my profile for contact information."
, the pastor at Westwind Church, is another new addition to the Local Voices section of Waukee Patch. He’s blogging about religion and spirituality in a more relatable way. Really, who other than Barker could equate the process of making the perfect pizza to the way we relate to God? He's good.
We encourage you to join our lineup and have your voice heard, too. You can tell your neighbors what’s going on in your organization, in your school, with your church, on your block and even in your home. We hope you’ll join our lineup of bloggers appearing on these pages, including:
, a Waukee City Councilman who video blogs every Wednesday to keep readers up-to-date on what's going on around the city.
, a husband/dad/career guide/political fan who plans to gab about well, whatever strikes a chord that week. Here's what he had to say in his first blog posted last week.
, a frugal living blogger who lists the weekly grocery store deals for most local supermarkets. You can find her on Waukee Patch every Tuesday.
, a Waukee mom and photographer who specializes in children's photography, covers the gamut of all things photography-related from how to take the best pictures using your own camera to what to wear for family pictures. Here's what she wrote in her most recent blog post.
