Halloween 2011: Beggar's Night Calls for a Good Joke. What's Yours?

It's tradition in the Des Moines area to tell jokes on Beggar's Night when you're going door-to-door gathering candy. What's your best joke?

Shortly after my husband and I purchased a house in the suburbs years ago, we were introduced to the central Iowa version of Beggar's Night.

While both us grew up not far from the area, neither of us had ever heard of having to work for your loot by telling a joke. It seemed kind of unfair, especially if you weren't all that funny.

Still, that little bit of tradition has brought us great pleasure in recent years, so much so that we look forward to hearing what the kids come up with. This was one of our favorites (though not necessarily appropriate for all ages):

So, what's your favorite joke? Tell us in the comments section. Keep in mind, these are jokes for the kids so keep 'em clean, people.
