Desmund Adams Files Paperwork in Bid for Iowa Senate District 22
Desmund Adams, a small business owner from Clive, has filed paperwork with the Iowa State Secretary in his bid to win a seat in the Iowa Senate District 22.

Clive small business owner Desmund Adams has filed nominating petitions with the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office for open Senate District 22, which includes Clive, Waukee, Windsor Heights and part West Des Moines .
“Working to create a climate where businesses can thrive and create jobs is my number one goal,” Adams said. “I believe my experience as an entrepreneur and businessman will add an important element to the discussion at the State Capitol.”

Adams owns & operates ADAMSDOUGLAS, an executive search and talent acquisition firm. Prior to starting his own business, Adams worked as an investment broker and served as Vice President at an executive recruiting firm.
Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Drake University in 1996 and worked as a teacher in the Des Moines Public School System while at the same time earning his law degree from Drake Law School, where he graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1999. Desmund is active in his church. His wife, Dr. Shondalette Adams is a clinical pharmacist at Critical Care Systems in Urbandale and together they are raising two sons, Khalil and Solomon.

“I will be a moderate voice in the Iowa Senate for District 22. I have been knocking on doors and holding listening posts since last April, meeting as many people as possible to discuss common sense solutions to our shared challenges,” Adams added. “I want to hear your concerns, questions and suggestions for how we move forward together.”
