Early Out, Library Fun, Booster Club and Other Things You Should Know Today in Waukee

Here's everything you need to know today, April 4, and some other stuff, too.

1) Today's Weather

Expect mostly cloudy skies today with a high near 64. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a low around 42.

2) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for some fun for the kids today? Check out Playful Preschoolers at 10 a.m. at the . Playful Preschoolers is for children ages 3 to 6. It includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft.

Babies and Books also meets at 10 a.m. It's for pre-walkers (babies approximately birth to 18 mos.) with a caregiver. There will be songs, books and rhymes. Only one child per caregiver is recommended.

There will be a Teen Program today. Teens will be singing karaoke at 1 p.m.

3) Early Dismissal

Don't forget! Today is early dismissal for all Waukee Schools. Elementary schools will dismiss today at 1:40 p.m. Secondary schools dismiss at 12:50 p.m.

4) Waukee Athletic Booster Club Meeting

The Waukee Athletic Booster Club will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Waukee High School commons. The Booster Club meets the first Wednesday of every month.

5) Reminder: Portable Irrigation Meter Certification

If you own a portable irrigation meter, the city would like to remind you to have the meter certified this spring before you start using it. 

For readings to be accepted from a portable irrigation meter, it is necessary that the meter be certified yearly. To have your meter certified, residents are encouraged to take it to the Waukee Utility Billing Office at anytime between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
