Five Must Know Things in Waukee Today: Kindergarten Enrollment, H & R's Open House & More!

Here's everything you need to know today, March 6, and some other stuff, too.

1) 2012-13 Kindergarten Online Enrollment Starts Today

The online portal for kindergarten enrollment for the 2012-13 school year starts today. If a family chooses to complete the enrollment process using the paper process, the materials may be picked up at the student’s attendance center, central administration office, or online. Additional information can be found on the district website.

  • The online enrollment portal will open one week prior to the night of kindergarten registration.
  • The online enrollment portal will close three weeks after its opening.
  • Completed paper enrollment packets will be accepted beginning one week prior to the night of kindergarten registration at the Central Administration Office, or
  • Completed paper enrollment packets may be turned in at kindergarten registration night.
  • Completed paper enrollment packets must be returned by March 27th at 4:30 pm to the Central Administration Office.
  • Please note that only completed packets will be accepted.

Come out and support your Waukee Warrior athletic teams today.

The boys varsity track team will meet in Waverly at 3 p.m. today. The team's opponent has not yet been announced. The girls varsity track team will face off against Iowa City at the University of Iowa Rec Center at 5 p.m.

The 8th grade boys and girls swim meet vs. Ankeny will take place at the Ankeny YMCA at 5 p.m.

3) H & R Block Open House

The will hold an open house at H & R Block, located at 284 Highway 6 in the Liberty Plaza in Waukee today from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy refreshments, network and have the opportunity to win a free tax return (value up to $250.00). RSVP to www.waukeechamber.com/registration.

4) Lion's Club of Waukee

The Lions Club of Waukee, dedicated to sight and hearing care in the community, is holding an informational meeting today at 5:30 p.m. at the Waukee Community Center. 5) Waukee Public Library Friends & Foundation Meeting

If you have an interest in getting more involved with the , the Friends and Foundation group will hold their monthly meeting tonight at the Waukee Public Library at 6:30 p.m.
