Five Things in Waukee: Preschool Registration, Library Fun, Sports, Meetings and a Concert

1) Waukee Community Preschool Registration

Registration for the 2012-13 preschool year will begin this morning at 7 a.m. at the . Registration for 3 and 4 year-olds in the Waukee community preschool program is first come, first served. The District will accept applications until all available spots are filled.

2) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for a little something to do with the kids today? The has preschool storytime for ages 3-6 at 10:15 a.m.

For children in kindergarten though 5^th grade, the library will host Dewey Discoveries where students take a closer look at the Dewey Decimal system  tonight at 6 p.m. There will also be visitors on hand from the Animal Rescue League.  

3) Waukee Sports

There are several Warrior sports teams playing today.

The 8^th grade girls basketball team will play Norwalk at Norwalk Middle School at 4:30 p.m. 

The Waukee Middle School 7^th grade wrestlers will meet Indianola and Ames Middle School at 4:30 p.m. at Waukee Middle School.

The Waukee Middle School 8^th grade wrestlers will meet Ames and Indianola at Prairieview School at 4:30 p.m.

The Waukee High School 10^th grade boys basketball team will play Southeast Polk at Waukee High School at 4:45 p.m.

The Waukee High School JV girls basketball team will play Southeast Polk at South Middle School at 4:45 p.m.

The Waukee High School girls varsity basketball team will play Southeast Polk at 6:15 p.m. at Waukee High School. The boys varsity game will follow at 7:45 p.m.

4) Meetings in Waukee

The Waukee Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at 6 p.m tonight in the Waukee City Hall city council chambers. The next meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission will be Dec. 27.

 The Waukee Public Library Board will hold its monthly board meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Waukee Public Library.

5) Prairieview 9^th Grade Band and Vocal Concert

The Prairieview School 9^th grade band and vocal members will perform tonight at 7 p.m. in the Waukee High School auditorium. The event is open to the public.
