Five Things in Waukee: Youth & Adult Basketball, Strong Families and a Chilly Sunday

Here's everything you need to know today, Nov. 20, and some other stuff too.

1) Waukee YMCA Preschool/Kindergarten Basketball Clinics

The Waukee YMCA will host a basketball clinic today at beginning at 1 p.m. The clinic is open to preschool and kindergarten-aged students.

Registration is also open for the second session of the preschool/kindergarten basketball clinic that begins in January.  There will also be a kindergarten basketball league that runs February through March. Registration for the league Dec. 1.

2) Waukee YMCA Adult Men's Basketball League

The Waukee YMCA will host an adult men's basketball league today at 5 p.m. at the Waukee Family YMCA.

Another men's league will begin in February or March.  Please email joel.goetsch@dmymca.org if you are interested in participating.

3) Iowa State University Strengthening Families Program

The Strengthening Families Program is for parents and youth ages 10-14 offered by the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. It's designed to help families build strong relationships through communication and problem solving. The program will be held today at 5 p.m. at Waukee Elementary School. 5) Did You Know?

Did you know that two churches meet in Waukee schools every Sunday? Waukee Community Church meets at Prairieview School beginning at 7:30 a.m. Westwind Church meets at South Middle School at 8 a.m.
