Five Things in Waukee: Yard Waste and Food Drive Last Days, Free Clinic, Food Pantry and School Board
Here's everything you need to know today, Nov. 28, and some other stuff too.

1) Last Day for Yard Waste Pick Up
Today is the last day of the year for yard waste pick up. Make sure that all yard waste is placed on the curb in clearly marked containers or yard waste bags, and that sticks, twigs and tree limbs are bundled and are no longer than four feet. If your yard waste is missed today, asks that you contact the Utility Office at (515) 978-5502.
2) Last Day for the Dollars for Scholars Food Drive

The Waukee School District's Dollars for Scholars Food Drive ends today. All donated items benefit the Waukee Area Christian Services Food Pantry. Parents are asked to bring or send donated items to their child's school. Cash donations will also be accepted.

Brookview Elementary: Baking items, jello, pudding, crackers
Eason Elementary: Peanut butter, jelly, drinks (juice)
Maple Grove Elementary: Pizza mix/sauce, pasta, pasta sauce
Shuler Elementary: Canned fruit, snacks, rice/pasta sides
Walnut Hills Elementary: Canned meat, canned beans, canned vegetables, Â canned tomatoes
Waukee Elementary: Cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, syrup
South Middle School: Cleaning products, laundry soap, diapers
Waukee Middle School: Personal Care items-shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothpaste, toilet paper
Prairieview School: Canned meals, canned soup (cream or broth)
Waukee High School: Boxed meals, boxed potatoes, boxed stuffing
3) Teen Advisory Board at the Waukee Public Library
For students interested in leadership at the Waukee Public Library, the Teen Advisory Board will meet today at 3 p.m. Teen advisers volunteer at the library, plan teen programs and run fundraisers. They also assist in the selection of young adult materials. There are games and popcorn following the meeting. New members are always welcome.
3) Waukee Food Pantry and Free Clinic Open Today
will be open today for those people living in the Waukee School District or for those with approval from local churches to receive non-perishable food and personal items. The pantry is open from 4 to 6 p.m.
will also be open today, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The free clinic provides everything from high blood pressure treatment to care for a cold or even minor injury.

5) Waukee School Board Meeting
The Waukee School Board will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. in the e board room. The Waukee School Board meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month. The next meeting of the school board will be Dec. 12.
