Five Things in Waukee: Library Fun, Waukee Sports, Fine Arts Night and a Valentine's Dance

1) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for something to do today? Why not check out some of the activities at the ? The Playful Preschoolers class, for children ages 3 to 6, includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft. It's offered at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. today.

For the adults, there's an open book discussion group at 1 p.m. The group will be discussing,"The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Zafon. Copies of the book are available at the library and refreshments will be served.

2) Waukee Sports

Come out and support your Waukee Warrior athletic teams.

The Waukee Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team will face Marshalltown's Miller Middle School at 4:30 p.m. at Miller Middle School in Marshalltown.

The South Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team plays Johnston Middle School at South Middle School today at 4:30 p.m.

The Waukee girls JV game vs. Johnston will be at Prairiview School at 4:45 p.m.

The Waukee High School boys 10th grade game vs. Johnston is at 4:45 p.m. The girls varsity game vs. Johnston is 6:15 p.m. and the Waukee boys varsity game follows at 7:45 p.m.

3) Maple Grove 2nd Grade Fine Arts Night

The Maple Grove Elementary 2nd grade Fine Arts Night will be held this evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Waukee High School auditorium. There is no charge to attend.

4) Today's Weather

5) Did You Know?

There will be a Daddy/Daughter Dance at Prairieview School on Feb. 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. Dads are invited to bring their favorite Valentines (ages 2-22) to this fundraising event supporting Waukee High School's After-Prom Party.

Cost is $25 per couple and $10 for each additional daughter. Registration is required. The registration and instruction PDF is attached.
