Five Things in Waukee: a Pink Well, Toddlertime, a Tailgate and a Game

Here's what's going on in Waukee today, Oct. 14, and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) Katie’s Crusaders and the Pink Well Challenge

Katie’s Crusaders, a non-profit started by breast cancer survivor Katie Mangan that raises money for other women fighting the illness, is hoping to raise $25,000 for their cause with your help. Go to www.pinkwell.org and vote for Katie’s Crusaders. You have until midnight tonight to vote.

2) Toddlertime at the Library

Toddlertime for ages 18 month to 3 years, will be held today at the at 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Toddlers and their caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime.

3) Band Booster Tailgate

The Band Boosters are hosting a tailgate party in the Waukee High School commons today beginning at 4:30 p.m. The party is for for all Waukee Regiment members, directors, and roadies. Tonight is also senior recognition night. All seniors and their parents will gather at half-time of the Waukee varsity football game to be recognized for their participation in the Waukee High Marching Band.

4) Waukee High School Football vs. Valley High School

Come out and cheer on your as they face the Valley High School Tigers tonight at .  The sophomore football game begins at 5 p.m. The varsity game is at 7:30 p.m. Check back into Waukee Patch tonight for live blogging from the varsity game beginning at 7:30 p.m.

5) The Weather
