Five Things in Waukee: Black Friday, Closures, Basketball and Cooler Temps

1) Black Friday

It's almost as popular as turkey on Thanksgiving. It's Black Friday and if you're a fan then you're probably already out there. Check out for the most up-to-date information to help you map out your shopping strategy.

2) Post-Holiday Closures

All Waukee city offices will remain closed today. The Waukee Public Library will also be closed but will reopen Saturday.

3) Waukee Schools Thanksgiving Break

Students in all 10 schools in the Waukee School District will continue their Thanksgiving break today. Classes resume at their regular time on Monday, Nov. 28.

4) Girls Basketball vs. Ankeny

The Waukee Warrior girls basketball teams will play the Ankeny Hawks today at Waukee High School. The ninth grade girls game begins at 3 p.m., JV game at 5 p.m. and the varsity girls play at 6:30 p.m.

5) Today's Weather

The weather won't be quite as nice as Thanksgiving day but it's certainly better than snow. Expect partly sunny skies and breezy with a high near 60. Tonight, rain likely with a low around 42.
