Five Things in Waukee: Books, Basketball, Band and Public Input

Here's everything you need to know for today, Nov. 15, and some other stuff, too.

1) Activites at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for a little something to do with the kids today? The Waukee Public Library has preschool storytime for ages 3-6 at 10:15 a.m.

For the adults, there's an open book discussion group at 1 p.m. The group will be discussing,"Where Did All the Cowboys Go?" by Joe Millard. Copies of the book are available at the library and refreshments will be served.

2) Waukee Middle School 8th Grade Girls Basketball vs. Indian Hills 

The 8th grade girls basketball team will play Indian Hills Junior High today beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Waukee Middle School.

3) South Middle School Band Concert

is holding its band concert tonight in the large gym at South Middle School. The sixth grade band takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. The seventh and eighth grade band will begin at 7:30 p.m.

4) Public Meeting for New Community Center

The City of Waukee is holding a public meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Waukee City Council Chambers at . City leaders are seeking suggestions and comments about what features they would like to see included in the new community center planned at the site of the old Waukee fire station at 355 Seventh St.

5)  Today’s Weather
