1) Waukee Chamber's Breakfast Before Business

Triplett Office Supplies at 3553 109th St. in Urbandale is hosting the 's Breakfast Before Business this morning at 7:30 a.m.

Attendees are encourage to RSVP to www.waukeechamber.com/registration. There is no charge to attend.

2) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for something to do today? Why not check out some of the activities at the ? The Playful Preschoolers class, for children ages 3 to 6, includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft. It's offered at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. today.

Also at the Library today, the Waukee Public Library Foundation and the Friend of the Waukee Public Library will host a joint meeting and potluck beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will open with a presentation by Connie and Carson Ode who spent 2008 exploring Iowa.  The resulting book, "Iowa – Spaces, Places, and Faces" is an entertaining ride through all 99 counties.  Books will be available for purchase.  

A potluck will follow.  Table service and beverages will be provided.  After dinner each of the Library groups will give a brief update.

3) Waukee Sports

Come out and show your support for your Waukee athletic teams today.

The boys and girls, JV and varsity bowling teams will face Fort Dodge at today at 3:30 p.m. The meet was originally scheduled for Jan. 23.

The 8th grade boys' basketball team will face Southeast Polks Junior High School today at 4:30 p.m. at Southeast Polk Junior High School.

The 8th grade boys' basketball team will play Stilwell Junior High at 4:30 p.m. today at Waukee Middle School.

The Waukee High School boys' and girls' basketball teams will play Des Moines North today at North High School. The boys' 10th grade game is at 4:45 p.m., girls' varsity game at 6:30 p.m. and boys' varsity at 7:45 p.m.

4) Waukee City Council Budget Session Meeting

The Waukee City Council's FY2013 budget work session originally scheduled for Jan. 25 will be held today at 5:30 p.m. at .

5) Maple Grove Elementary School's 4th Grade Fine Arts Night

The 4th grade Fine Arts Night will be held this evening beginning at 6 p.m. in the Waukee High School auditorium. There is no charge to attend.
