1) South Middle School Girls Basketball vs. Stillwell Junior High

The eighth grade girls basketball team will play Stillwell Junior High School today at 4:30 p.m. in the large gym at South Middle School.

2) Sears Hometown Store Ribbon-Cutting

The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon-cutting for the new Sears Hometown Store at 300 W. Hickman Road beginning at 5:30 p.m. today. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at www.waukeechamber.com/registration.

3) Waukee Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting

The Waukee Planning & Zoning Commission will meet tonight at 6 p.m. in the Waukee City Hall Council Chambers. The next meeting of the commission will be held Oct. 25.

4) Kids Eat Free

Both and in Waukee offer free meals for the kids. Philly's Finest lets kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entree. Pizza Ranch also allows kids to eat free with the purchase of an adult meal.

5) Writer's Group at the Library

Are you a writer? Are you interested in meeting other writers to compare, critique, and expand your abilities? Look no further than the . The Writer's Group meets at the library on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
