Five Things in Waukee: Early Out, Fun at the Library and a Big Game
Here's what's going on in Waukee today, Oct. 26, and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) Early Dismissal
Don't forget! Today is early dismissal for all Waukee Schools. Elementary schools will dismiss today at 1:40 p.m. Secondary schools dismiss at 12:50 p.m.

Looking for a little something to do with the kids today? The has preschool storytime for ages 3-6 at 10:15 a.m. Babies and books is also held at 10:15 a.m. This program is for pre-walkers and a caregiver. Songs, books and rhymes are included.
Also today, the Waukee Library will host a showing of the teen movie, "Short Circuit" at 1:30 p.m. Â

3) Waukee vs. Sioux City East
The Waukee Warrior football team will face the Sioux City East Black Raiders in the first round of play-offs beginning at 7 p.m. tonight at Waukee Stadium. The Warriors defeated the Black Raiders once already this season, a 28-21 in the second week of the regular season.
4) The Weather
Don't bother washing the car today. You can expect a 20 percent chance of sprinkles and mostly cloudy skies with a high near 53. Tonight, mostly cloudy again with a low near 35.
5) Did You Know?
Did you know the Waukee Public Library was willed money by a former Waukee resident? Hiram Ori designated a gift for the library that could be more than $500,000 after fees. The money will be used to build a meeting room to be dedicated to Ori's parents, Ernest and Casimira Ori who lived and worked in the Shuler Mines.
