Five Things in Waukee: Waukee Basketball, Food Pantry & Free Clinic, and More

1) Waukee 8th Grade Boys Basketball

The Waukee Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team will play the South Middle School 8th grade boys at 4:30 p.m. today at South Middle School.

2) Waukee Food Pantry and Free Clinic Open Today

The Waukee Food Pantry will be open today for those people living in the Waukee School District or for those with approval from local churches to receive non-perishable food and personal items. The pantry is open from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Waukee Free Clinic will also be open today, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The free clinic provides everything from high blood pressure treatment to care for a cold or even minor injury.

Both the Waukee Food Pantry and the Waukee Free Clinic are housed in lower level of the Westview Church.

3) Brookview Elementary PTO Meeting

Looking to join the Brookview Elementary PTO? Join them for their regular meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the media center at Brookview Elementary School. The guest speaker will be Alisha Parmerlee, Brookview's ESL instructor. She will present on the ESL program and services at Brookview and in Waukee.

4) Citizen of the Year Nominations

Nomination forms are now being accepted for the 2011 Waukee Citizen of the Year.  Each year, the city of Waukee honors a citizen chosen for their hard work and dedication during the previous year.  If you would like to nominate a citizen who you believe deserves special recognition for their service and dedication to the community, click here for a nomination form and submission details:  http://www.waukee.org/news/article189.html.
