Five Things in Waukee: Food, Fundraisers, Meetings and More
Here are a few things you need to know today, Feb. 27, and some other stuff, too.

1) Waukee Food Pantry and Free Clinic Open Today
will be open today for those people living in the Waukee School District or for those with approval from local churches to receive non-perishable food and personal items. The pantry is open from 4 to 6 p.m.
will also be open today, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The free clinic provides everything from high blood pressure treatment to care for a cold or even minor injury.

2) Waukee City Council and School Board Meetings Tonight

The Waukee City Council will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Waukee City Hall Chambers.
The Waukee School Board will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. in the Waukee Community Schools District Office board room.
3) Activities at the Waukee Public Library
Looking for something to do with the kids today? The has a few things for you to do.
Whimsical Ones is for babies and toddlers ages 12-24 months. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Whimsical Ones meets at 10 a.m.
Time for Twos is for toddlers 2-3 years-old. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Time for Twos meets at 11 a.m.
There will also be a Teens Drop-in Craft Time at 2 p.m. today.
4) Waukee Serves Fundraiser at Chick-fil-A at Jordan Creek
Join Waukee Serves at the Jordan Creek Town Center Chick-fil-A tonight from 5-7:30 p.m. for Spirit Night.
The Cashier will place your receipt in the box on the counter marked “Waukee Serves” and at the end of the night Chick-fil-A will donate a portion of the sales to Waukee Serves for the upcoming community-wide meal packing event on May 5th to benefit Meals from the Heartland.
Invite your family, friends and neighbors! The more who come eat, the more money raised for the 2nd Annual Waukee Serves event to benefit Meals from the Heartland!
5) Maple Grove Elementary Fundraiser at Waukee Pizza Ranch
Grab a bite to eat tonight at Pizza Ranch and support Maple Grove Elementary. Enjoy dinner, snack or carry out any time after 5 p.m. and 10 percent of the proceeds will go back to Maple Grove Elementary School along with all tips from the night. Maple Grove staff will be there greeting and bussing tables.
