1) Elementary School Fall Harvest Parties

, , , , , and Elementary Schools will all host their Fall Harvest Parties today beginning at 2:30 p.m. Please contact your child's teacher for additional details.

2) Halloween Haunted House

The Waukee Park Board is sponsoring a haunted house at the Centennial Park enclosed shelter house tonight, 7-10 p.m. Enter if you dare, but be prepared to be scared. This haunted house is not suggested for young children. Cost is $5 per person.

3) Mickey's Irish Pub Costume Contest

is hosting a costume contest Friday and Saturday night. Come in costume and receive a free pint. There will be prizes — $100 for best costume and $50 bar tab for staff favorite — beginning at 9 p.m. each evening.

4) Night Eyes at the Blank Park Zoo

Looking for a little not-so-scary precursor to Beggar's Night? Why not take the kids to Blank Park Zoo for Night Eyes. Night Eyes runs tonight 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and offers a merry, not scary celebration with activities, treats and costumes for the little ones. Admission is $4 for members and $5 for non-members.
