Five Things in Waukee: Library Activities, Waukee Sports, Fine Arts and "Waukee Idol"

1) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for a little something to do with the kids today? The has preschool storytime for ages 3-6 at 10:15 a.m.

Join fellow readers for a discussion of Paul Harding's "Tinkers" today at 1 p.m. also at the Waukee Public Library. Refreshments will be served. Copies are available at the library.

2) Waukee Sports

The girls JV basketball team will play Fort Dodge at Fort Dodge High School today at 4:45 p.m. The girls varsity team will play at 6:15 p.m. and the boys varsity team will play at 7:45 p.m., also at Fort Dodge High School.

The boys 10^th grade basketball team will also play Fort Dodge today at Fort Dodge-Phillips Middle School in Fort Dodge today at 4:45 p.m. The 9^th grade boys will play at 6:15 p.m. and the 9^th grade girls basketball team will play at 7:45 p.m.

The boys JV swim team will meet Fort Dodge and Grinnell in the Waukee Family YMCA swimming pool starting at 5 p.m.  The boys varsity swim team will swim against Fort Dodge also at 5 p.m.

3) Maple Grove Elementary 1st Grade Fine Arts Night

The Maple Grove Elementary 1st grade Fine Arts Night will be held this evening beginning at 6 p.m. in the Maple Grove Elementary gymnasium. There is no charge to attend.

4) "Waukee Idol" at Waukee High School

After more than 100 auditions, the Waukee Vocal Music Department will present performances from the finalists in the 2011 "Waukee Idol" competition tonight at 7 p.m. in the Waukee High School Auditorium.
