Five Things in Waukee: Library Fun, Waukee Sports, Shuler Night at Panera and Daffodil Days
Here's everything you need to know today, Feb. 21, and some other stuff, too.

1) Activities at the Waukee Public Library
Looking for something to do today? Why not check out some of the activities at the Waukee Public Library? The Playful Preschoolers class, for children ages 3 to 6, includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft. It's offered at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. today.
For the adults, there's an open book discussion group at 1 p.m. The group will be discussing, "The Geography of Bliss" by Eric Weiner. Copies of the book are available at the library and refreshments will be served.

2) Waukee Sports
The Johnston Middle School 7th grade coed swim team consisting of swimmers from Johnston, Urbandale and Waukee will face Ankeny today at 4:30 p.m. at Ankeny High School. The 8th grade coed swim team will also face Ankeny at 4:30 p.m. at Ankeny High School.

The Waukee High School girls varsity basketball team will face Dowling High School tonight at 7 p.m. in the regional basketball finals at Johnston High School.
3) Shuler Elementary Night at Panera Bread
Grab a bite to eat tonight at Panera Bread, 6740 University Ave. in West Des Moines and support Shuler Elementary School. Enjoy dinner or a snack anytime after 4 p.m. and 10 percent of the proceeds will go back to Shuler Elementary School.
4) American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days
The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days event is March 12-16. Those people wanting to support the American Cancer Society can purchase daffodils for themselves or as as a gift and the proceeds will directly benefit the American Cancer Society. Daffodil Days products include, but are not limited to: Bunch of Daffodils $10, Dainty Daffodils (can be planted after blooming) $15, Gift of Hope (bouquet delivered anonymously to a cancer patient) $25, Bear Hugs For Hope (Shar N. Hope Boyds Bear given to a child affected by cancer) $25 and the Sunshine Bouquet (60 daffodils in a beautiful vase, perfect for reception areas) $75. Â
