Five Things in Waukee: No School, a Food Drive, Toddlertime, and Football Game

Here's what's going on in Waukee today, Oct. 21, and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) No School Today

Students in the will get the day off today.  There is no school in Waukee today due to a teacher work day.

2) Waukee Food Drive Jeans/ Crazy Hat Day

Help Fill the Shelves at the ! Join Aflac and AIM Mail Center to help stop hunger.  Allow your employees to wear jeans or a crazy hat today if they bring five items from the following list: non-perishables including peanut butter and jelly, canned meals, cereal, soups, canned meats, canned fruits, canned vegetables and baby items including diapers, formula, food and wipes.  Donations can be dropped off to Aflac, located at 2570 106th St., Suite A in Urbandale.

3) Toddlertime

The is hosting two fun family activities today. Toddlertime is for ages 18 month to 3 years and is offered at 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Toddlers and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger-plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime.

4) Waukee Football vs. Ames

The Waukee Warriors will take on the Ames Little Cyclones tonight in Ames. The sophomore game begins at 4:45 p.m. The varsity kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Tonight's game is the last in regular season play. Playoffs begin next week.
