Five Things in Waukee: Sleepy Hollow, the Food Pantry, a Traffic Signal and Baseball
Here's everything you need to know today, Dec. 29, and some other stuff, too.

1) Sleepy Hollow Sports Park Trip
Participants in third through sixth grades can enjoy three hours of snow tubing during winter break at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park today. Kids will leave from Waukee City Hall at 9:15 a.m. and will return at 2:45 p.m. Attendees will stop for lunch on the way home. Dress warm (gloves, hats, and boots) and bring spending money for snacks and lunch. Cost is $28.

2) Waukee Area Food Pantry Services
Waukee Area Christian Services food pantry is open today from 9-11 a.m. offering non-perishable food and personal items for those living in the Waukee School District or those with approval from local churches. The food pantry is located in the lower level of .

3) Warrior Lane & Hickman Road Traffic Signal Work
According to the city of Waukee's , Iowa Signal will be doing work on the traffic signal at the intersection of Warrior Lane and Hickman Road. There will be periods of time where the signal will be flashing red in all directions today.
4) Iowa Pitching & Coaching Clinic
Former major league baseball pitchers are hosting a pitching and catching clinic today at Valley High School, 3650 Woodland Ave., in West Des Moines from 2-5Â p.m.
The clinic will focus on the fundamentals of both pitching and catching using a variety of drills and techniques and hands-on coaching. Cost is $50 per child. E-mail jnahas@Âiowacubs.Âcom to register.
