Five Things in Waukee: Small Business Seminar, Class at the Library, Waukee Choir and More

1) Small Business Seminar at Actis Wealth Management

Actis Wealth Management in West Des Moines is sponsoring a free small business seminar today at 8:45 a.m. at the Lotus Moments and Event Center, 2134 E. Grand Ave. in Des Moines.

The seminar is an educational and assistance tool for small business owners to become more successful.  A variety of topics will be addressed in speaking presentations. Consultants will be on hand to answer questions and advise on any aspect of small business.

2) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for some fun for the kids today? Check out Playful Preschoolers at 10 a.m. at the . Playful Preschoolers is for children ages 3 to 6. It includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft.

Babies and Books also meets at 10 a.m. It's for pre-walkers (babies approximately birth to 18 mos.) with a caregiver. There will be songs, books and rhymes. Only one child per caregiver is recommended.

There will be a Teen program today. "Silly Putty and Gack" will be at 3:30 p.m.

3) Waukee High School Show Choir and Jazz Choir Year End Show

The Waukee High School Show Choir and Jazz Choir Year End show will take place tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in the Waukee High School Auditorium. Admission is $5 at the door.

The concert will feature Waukee High School jazz choirs Avenue Jazz, Sound Check and Tonedef. The high school show choirs Spirit and Millennium will perform along side solo acts performed by five Waukee High School seniors.

4) Tina Haase Findlay at ArtsCentral, March 3

Tina Haase Findlay will perform at on Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m.. Haase Findlay has been a staple on the Des Moines area music scene for more than 25 years. Her style takes from several musical genres - jazz, blues, rock, soul, gospel, commercial jingles, musical theatre, and beyond. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. at ArtsCentral. Single tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are available by calling (515) 402-7870, at Waukee Hardware, or the night of the performance, if tickets are still available.
